Obama's Victory may not mean favor for Africa's development--keep expectations lower

Congratulations! Many people believe that change was made. Which change is it all about? I know President elect Barack Obama comes from Kenya by tracing the original grounds/roots.

But, the policy of America may still bear no change BUT simply a chance to talk about the word "change".

Let us wait and watch.

"More than an end to war, we want an end to the beginning of all wars -- yes, an end to this brutal, inhuman and thoroughly impractical method of settling the differences between governments."

***Peace, all we have to fight for***
About this event: Gulu Walk

"We should take care, in inculcating patriotism into our boys and girls, that is a patriotism above the narrow sentiment which usually stops at one's country, and thus inspires jealousy and enmity in dealing with others... Our patriotism should be of the wider, nobler kind which recognises justice and reasonableness in the claims of others and which lead our country into comradeship with...the other nations of the world. The first step to this end is to develop peace and goodwill within our borders, by training our youth of both sexes to its practice as their habit of life, so that the jealousies of town against town, class against class and sect against sect no longer exist; and then to extend this good feeling beyond our frontiers towards our neighbours."

Lord Baden-Powell

Sleeping Positions
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Curled up on his or her side.
Going fetal is the most common sleep position, with 41 percent of people (and twice as many women as men) reporting this as their preference. These snoozers may seem tough on the surface, but they’re actually sensitive and shy, so keep that in mind if you want to crack a joke in the a.m. about your sweetie’s morning breath.

Sideways and straight as a log.
Fifteen percent of people lie on their sides with their arms at their sides. These space-conserving sorts tend to be extremely trusting and gregarious, so if you’re seeing someone like this, you’ll continue to go on plenty of group dates, dinner parties, and outings that will allow this social butterfly to spread his or her wings.

Sideways with arms outstretched.
Warning: The 13 percent of folks who slumber with their arms reaching in front of them are cynical and slow to make decisions. But while they may dodge the “Are we exclusive?” question longer than usual, once they do commit, you can be sure they’re sure.

On his or her back, arms at sides.
This pose, common amongst eight percent of respondents, means your sweetie’s reserved and has very high standards. You’re with someone who’ll treat this relationship with the respect and attention it deserves.

On his or her stomach.
Seven percent of people sleep on their stomachs with their hands around the pillow and their heads to the side—and the research says these folks are pure party animals. If that’s your thing, well, party on!

On his or her back, arms overhead.
This rarest of sleep position--only five percent of the population sleep this way--also boasts a very rare quality: These folks are good listeners. So whether you’ve mentioned you only drink decaf or love waking up to Puccini, don’t be surprised if your wish comes true come morning.

OBAMA AFRICA REBORN
Related to country: Uganda

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

The election of the first black American president of the United states is a great turning point to Africa. As Afrians this is the time for us to come to an understanding of who we are, and what we can do. I wish to thank all the white that voted for Barack Obama, this was a sign of true brotherhood and unity between America whites and blacks. America has showed us a true example of democracy and surely Africa should learn. Obama hails from Kenya a country that led to blood shed during the presidential elections. Thousands of lives where lost in a bid to retain power. I do pray that African leaders will learn from America and hand ove power peacefully. Africa this is the time to make all things new. Am proud that Martin Luther's spirit still lives even when he is dead.
GOD BLESS AFRICA.

10 Ways to Romance your Husband or Wife
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

The following tips come from the new Family Life resource, Simply Romantic Tips to Romance Your Husband. One free tip before you start—print out this page and keep it somewhere handy for fresh and creative ways of fanning the flames of romance in your marriage.

1. Write him/her a check for one hundred kisses. Be available to cash the check for him/her when and where he/she likes.

2. The next time you're out to dinner, casually take out a pen and write a note to him/her on a paper napkin—letting him/her know what he/she can look forward to at home. Fold it and slide it across the table.

3. As he/she heads out for work, give him/her a passionate kiss. If he/she wants to know what it was for, tell him/her it's the appetizer for tonight's menu.

4. Pamper his/her tootsies with a relaxing foot massage. All you need is a warm basin of water, some soap, a towel, and some lotion.

5. Get up a few minutes earlier than usual, brush your teeth, then get back in bed and wake him/her up with a kiss.

6. Refrain from saying "I told you so." That might be the best gift of all.

7. Handwrite his/her favorite Bible verse on parchment. After laminating it, surprise him/her by tucking it into his Bible.

8. Have your guy/gal write down on slips of paper his/her five favorite things to do. Fold them and place them in a bowl. Let him/her draw one out and read it—then do it together.

9. Blindfold your husband/wife and "kidnap" him/her. Take him/her to a hotel room where you have prepared a romantic tryst.

10. Men view romance differently than women. Ask your husband to describe what's romantic to him. Don't be surprised when his ideas sound very different from yours.
